Well those are *ahem* sizable.
But the very last girl in the right-hand column is a dead ringer imo. The resemblance is uncanny. I saw the thumbnail and thought it was reference CG.
I'm going to hang back and talk to people who played. That last review by IGN made me extremely iffy.
First sentence sums it up perfectly. I don't dislike them for that and I don't call them MS fanboys because they choose not to support PS3. That's childish.
Unfortunately, what's also childish is they way Newell continues to malign the PS3 as some impossible beast. If Valve aren't going to touch the PS3, just don't touch it. The smack talk isn't needed.
Edit: *sigh* Hydro is pretty much the childish response I was talking about. Valve doesn't make crappy games. They...
I don't see the merit of the complaint either. MS was wise enough to mandate achievements across the board and it's served them well enough so that their competitors and contemporaries decided to follow along in at least the implementation. Sure some devs phone it in, but that's their laziness and not the fault of the feature.
Been avoiding it like the plague so far.
I didn't think the Go was marketed towards core gamers really. I mean it's a more expensive version of the PSP with UMD functionality sacrificed in the name of DD. Add to that the 80% reduction in PSP dev kits and I assume Sony wants smaller games by smaller devs to support its Go ala the iPhone. Could be off, but we'll see what unfolds. The quality of games will speak for themselves.
Ugh. And this was on my 'get' list.
I can't believe the sandbox itself sounds so half-assed. All signs point to great action but less than stellar use of the environment. What is a sandbox game without a smartly exploited environment? Just some action game. I can deal with bland visuals, but only if that sacrifice is made in favour of (surprise) a better sandbox. Not piling as many enemies as possible onto one screen. That's just annoying.
Sheesh. I guess the people...
Little Red Riding Hood, the game... I think I'll try this for kicks.
Well, every industry has its egos. But Itagaki can also deliver so I don't mind. It's not like I have to have dinner with him. But if I do...lock the liquor cabinet.
"1UP: So does this mean you won't have women in your next game, or that you just won't have sexy women in your next game?
TI: Don't be stupid."
^^Haha.
I'm glad I fought the urge to respond to just the title. Quote was mangled to become fanboy war fuel.
“Our objective is to keep the player involved in the story at all time. I mean, I love Metal Gear Solid. But we thought this was a more immersive way to do things. Instead of, like, getting to that thing where you put the controller down for the next 45 minutes and wait for it to be over, we’re just gonna keep you in there the whole time.”
Hardly the combative tone s...
Oooooooook, sure.
A 360 exclusive announcement just doesn't hold water these days. MS has only itself to blame.
Don't call games exclusive when you know it's only for a limited time. Get those first party studios producing and maybe then MS can confidently call a title exclusive and mean it.
^^Agreed. I'm surprised people are getting so excited over this one. The last two were ok, but nothing special.
The 2D versions are leagues better imo. Probably cooking up something. Just wish I knew for sure.
^^^I'm good on the bowing, acolyte.
But I look forward to Last Guardian/Trico and to Team Ico topping SotC. Also Heavy Rain, maybe Uncharted 2 (it looked pretty awesome though I've never played the first), MAG, and the games that didn't take centre stage like the new Shin Megami wherever you are.
This game is the reason I bought a PS3. Some people will buy it for the graphics, but anyone who played Fahrenheit knows what to expect which is a lot of dynamic scenes seeded with QTEs. That is the gameplay and I am totally fine with it. It's the story I'll be paying attention to.
Alan Wake is different in its own way. It's already earmarked for my platform of choice and I'd love to hear more about it.
And um ftr, I don't think anyone supporting Heavy Rain or Alan W...
What about Winback?
I honestly don't know the case for Unreal. I would guess the 360 version makes use of some exclusive XBL feature in some way. I don't know for sure.
But from what I know of the 360 version of FFXI, SE's own servers facilitate multiplayer and so cross-platform play is possible amongst PS2, 360, PC, and (soon) PS3 owners.
SE announced FFXIV would have the same type of non-restrictive worldwide cross-platform servers so my guess is SE can work through it like with thei...
An FPS? The hell you say...
I thought Halo would finally enter the realm of the JRPG. :P
It wasn't a conference, it was an impromptu Q&A about the FFXIV announcement. Big difference between setting up a stage for big announcements and saying, 'sure we'll field some question real quick'.
Correct me if I'm wrong Penny, but I don't believe it's up to MS or Sony. Aren't all players on all available platforms able to play with anyone from anywhere in SE's FFXI? It seems to have already happened.
I'd love to see tech of this kind in an RPG. Waaaay far off probably.
